Why Morocco?

Morocco has long been the gateway from Africa to Europe. With barely 9 miles at the closest point between Spain and Morocco, Morocco offers a unique blend of Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. It is the land of spices and colors, and the food will leave your mouth watering for the amazing flavors of couscous or tajine, and yearning for the homemade breads baked fresh every morning.

Morocco has beautiful topography: from the beaches of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic coasts, to its far stretching plains, desert, and breathtaking peaks of the Atlas and Rif mountains.

On these trips, we might experience going inside a mosque, hiking with the Amazigh guides in the Atlas Mountains, camel trekking, sleeping in the desert, and exploring the labyrinth of markets also known as souks. UNESCO world heritage sites dot the landscape throughout the country, and you will be sure to  see the cultural and spiritual capital of Morocco – Fes.  We will learn to cook, share stories of the magic of this country, and perhaps make a new friend or two.

This trip is usually a great way to get your feet wet if you are a little tentative about a trip that’s out of your comfort zone. Moroccans are super friendly, and the pace of Morocco is comfortable and enjoyable for the seasoned adventurer or the less experienced wanderer.
